How do you answer the phone when a telemarketer calls?
I say, “Thanks for calling WNPR; you’re on the air.” How about you?

i just talk in an accent or i just dont even speak in a language i just jabber and see what they do.
let the answering machine answer your phone. never have to talk to them they hang up.; get a zapper at radio shack too. remvies your number from their files!!!
I don’t answer at all…the wonders of caller ID
I ask them to give me their home number & tell them that i will get back with them later LOL – gets them everytime.
I’m actually on the do not call list but my mom used to say when they asked I’m not here right now want me to take a message cracked me up all the time
They usually ask for my mom so I say, “She hasn’t gotten out of jail yet.” (she isn’t really in jail)
Or I say in a tearful voice, “She left us last night, peacefully in her sleep. WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING TO ME??? EVERYONE I KNOW KEEPS ON DYING!” and then I blubber on until they either try to comfort me or hang up.
Works like a charm.

I pick up the receiver and then put it back down w/out saying anything.
Or I tell them to give me their phone # so I can call them back during their dinner time.
I usually let the answering phone pick up but sometimes we do answer it and usually when we do answer, we tell them we are not interested.
I have worked as a telemarketer, and I know how it is. Sometimes I wished people would just tell me to take them off the list, that we didn’t have to call them back. But now since I don’t work there, that is what you should do, if you don’t want any. Tell them to take you off the list and if they call you back, then they are in deep trouble.
