Should I take this job as a telemarketer?

Question:

Should I take this job as a telemarketer?

Ok on craigslist I found this telemarketers wanted ad and the ad said the company a is large medical facility is seeking telemarketers to promote community services, No selling anything on the phone – just promotion of free community medical services. I called the number if you need experience for the job and the person that I spoke to said no, so I was wondering if I should go for the job or not? Is it worth it?

Question:

would you work as a telemarketer? please help?

I got a job in San Francisco working as a telemarketer, which I really don’t want to do. have you ever tried to convice someone to buy something they really don’t need? The hours suck(4:00-8:30pm mon-fri) plus it’s part-time 24 hours week. I also don’t have a car, so I must take public transportation (bus-$ 1.75 1 way, and Bart 6.20 round-trip) that means I walk out of work, only making 30 bucks a day. It just doesn’t seem like it’s worth paying all that money for nothing. what would you do? 400-600 phone calls in 4 hours? seems like way to many calls.

I don’t have a clever response to say to them. But I was getting regular calls from some company that wanted me to refinance my credit cards. I wouldn’t pick up – and the message that came on said “press 3 to opt out”. I must have done that 20 times the last few months. Also put myself on the do not call list again. So the last time I pressed 1 to speak to some one. I just explained the opt out option wasn’t working, and that I was on the do not call list – and would she PLEASE take my number out of their system. She hot so angry (and unprofessional) and actually said very loudly ” You are being so rude, we will be calling all the time now”. Then she hung up on – the calls keep coming
