can you learn the skill to present you company’s product or service aggressivly, politly, persuading the prospect he/she needs your product,,,,then CLOSE,,,,,get the commitment
they may imagine a few situations, problems, ask you how would you handle them.
how tolisten briefly to objections, overcome these with a taught retort.
toots, what they will NOT EVER tell you,is something they do not understand, which i think i do.
how crucial the voice is,it sells opera, rock n roll, pop, folk music, gospel r n b,same in telemarketing, for man or woman,,,,,,like the homeless guy with the silver chops (he has a great telemarketing voice)
a small percentage of phone reps (20 %) earn enough to pay rent,a car, lights, gas, and a 2 week vacation
to someplace without snow in winter.the reverse 80 % together = what the 20 % grosses
IE,most phone reps earn peanuts, unless the boss. can regularly pay you an hourly rate.
Sometimes they do,and a lot of these companies are honestly run.
the less effective voice,no matter the training,or native intelligence, cannot produce cold called sales.
The middle manager often concludes, seeing the ding dong ring up nice orders,’any idiot can do this job!’
This mistake is suggested in the turnover rate in the telemarketing biz, they lose a lot of decent people
because the owner does not understand how his top people ‘do it”
the company that makes money for the boss, secretaries, middle managers look at the turnover
rate, and periodic mass hiring as a cost of doing business,vs a long standing problem needing
n explanation and solution.
this outfit might pan out and be worth your while to get on board,or it may not,as i said above.
If they hire you, listen to the training,be able to paraphrase the presentation, memorize the comebacks,,,,
get them to close NOW,dont mess with index cards, colored pencils for call backs (=stall backs, they aint gonna buy nothin never, tossem in the bucket)
A guy i worked with in 97 used to call business folks (a good salesman, god chops) coast to coast,
leaving messages on general electric type cassette message machines,’go you huskys go!dont you eat that yellow snow,,,rarrrrrh!,,,the machines and tapes are likely in county landfills all over the nation,
maybe in recycling process in india.
