How do you react when you get a call from a Telemarketer?

Question:

How do you react when you get a call from a Telemarketer?

Listen to them, hang-up immediately, curse, what?

I usually tell them “No thanks, not interested.” Every once in awhile I’ll hang-up if I’m in the middle of something or in a hurry. I figure they’re just trying to do their job. I REALLY need to get on the NO CALL list!

I get agressive and swear at them, make them hang up on you – then they put you on their real blacklist that actually does work and they stop calling you.

There is a national “don’t call list” that you can list on. It cuts out 95% or the annoying cold calls or telemarketing calls you worry about. I’m on it. I’ve felt the same way as you before.

{Your phone number with the last four digits “—-” was most recently registered in the National Do Not Call Registry on June 30, 2006. Most telemarketers will be required to stop calling you 31 days from your registration date.}

This is an example from the site where you set it up.

how long have you been registered on the do not call list?

if it has been less than 30 days then you are not fully protected yet by businesses that you do not have a current or recent relationship with..

many callers are exempt from the do not call registry -
non-profit companies soliciting donations
surveys
political calls
businesses that you have a current or recent (i think it is 2 or 3 months in the past) relationship with
any businesses that you provide your number for additional information.
