First, if you want to be taken seriously for years to come, don’t use a telemarketer. Also, instead of a mailing house use a marketing firm. The marketing firm will know people who can mail your stuff straight from the production line that is pre-sorted, bar-coded and the price for each will be absolutely nothing more than is required… and with the marketing firm you will get more than “junk mail.” You might even find out that you don’t need to mail anything at all. For example: the greatest donors are the elderly and the well to do (usually one in the same.) Are you sure that mailers is the best way to reach them? They certainly don’t want to talk to your fundraising person on the phone, but they may very well read your internet home page… if it is well done and easy to find. They will throw the junk mail away, but they may very well watch your viral tv/internet ad… and if they DO watch it, then they will send it to a friend. I challenge you to forget the old ways of promotion. The market has changed already and more is in store. There are a host of video servers that will run your charitable spot for free (especially if it’s good) and loads of other opportunities for that WOM advertising, that are (by older standards) unconventional. If you are honestly doing a charity, PLEASE don’t waste your money. Spend some time with someone who knows the new market and how money is changing hands these days. You will probably save money and you will stand a far greater chance of success.

Q&A: What kind of training is best for a one year old weimaraner?

Question:

What kind of training is best for a one year old weimaraner?

My dog is now a year old, and like I was told, he has gotten stubborn. I’ve been looking into training methods, and I am unsure which would be the best way to go about this. There is the dog training at the local pet smart, there is this one trainer who takes your dog over the weekend and trains him, and then there are AKC certified trainers. Which is best?

Best answer:

Answer by Dog Section Regular
Nix the PetSmart trainers, don’t let someone else train your dog, use a certified trainer that trains YOU to train your dog.

He will show you the signs when he is ready to be potty trained.
Here are some of the most common signs:

1. Takes Off Own Clothes

Let’s face it. The first step to becoming dry begins with your toddler’s ability to recognize he has to go to the bathroom. The second step is his ability to pull down his pants, or lift up her dress. The third step is actually going to use the potty. If your child begins insisting on taking off his clothes then he probably is ready to begin training for the potty.

2. Talks about Using the Potty

He may say, “I want to use the potty.” Or, he may just point to it and sit down. Either case he is showing an extreme interest in the little chair. Well, what do you do if he’s interested in sitting; maybe he’ll be interested in using it. You never know unless you try. Hey diapers are expensive why spend more on them if you don’t have to.

3. Does a Potty Dance?

There are some children doing potty dance? Does your little one have a routine? Does he stomp, turn, twist, and grab his groin like Michael Jackson? If he does, then that’s his potty dance. He’s ready, ready, and ready if he has his own version and he dances it whether there’s music on or not.

4. Shows an Interest in the Bathroom or Toilet

This is the big koruna of all ready signs. The big earthquake so to speak. If your child is curious about the bathroom or toilet, then he’s ready to learn how to use it. Is he curious about how it flushes? Well, that’s because he wants to know how that giant white chair works. Why does it make that sound? It’s a noise like no other. He’s not being bad when you have to drag him out of the toilet. He wants to know what the toilet is. He wants to know how it works. He is ready, ready, and ready for potty training.

5. Stays Dry Overnight & During Naps

This is a hard readiness sign to understand. If you child staying dry overnights and at naptime that is the sign that he is ready for potty training. In any event, your child is ready if he displays this sign.

Now, does your child exhibit any two of these ready signs? If so, then get ready to do your potty training. You will never know those signs if you are not pay attention to their reaction.

Don’t worry about it.
My 4 year old son was just recently potty trained.

What is the best dog training method? And why do people in here hate Cesar Milan?

Question:

What is the best dog training method? And why do people in here hate Cesar Milan?

Every so often, someone in here goes on a soapbox rant about Cesar Milan. What is a better training method, and WHY is his so bad? If it works, what is the problem? I am really curious.

Best answer:

Answer by Dauntless
My issue with Cesar is not his training method it is the fact that he does not teach the people that actually live with the dog to maintain it. The food he supposedly developed is crap.
