Question:

Am in telemarketing and would like to learn any effective closing techniques anyone wants to share.?

Have been rather successful but I am always thrown by people who want to think it over or need to discuss with partner. My situation requires that I only have one opportunity to close and I am trying to avoid the usual and overused closing techniques.

Question:

Has anyone else experienced an automated telemarketer?

So it goes something like this. Your phone rings, but you don’t bother to pick it up because you’re in the middle of something. All of the sudden, your answering machine picks up and the automated telemarketer leaves a message like, “Good Afternoon, if you need your house and/or apartment cleaned we take care of the business by cleaning your hallway, bathroom and so on. If you would like this service please press 1 and their automated message ends there. Has anyone else ever experienced by getting a message like this or similar to this? I’ve never received an automated telemarketer this strange before so I wondered if it’s just me or if anybody else has gotten a call like the one I mentioned above. Thanks in advance.

Question:

Has anyone had success reporting a rude or obnoxious telemarketer and getting results?

Although we have eliminated 90% of telemarketing calls on our home phone, there are a few that get through on our cell phone since we use it for business. One in particular routinely calls to be purposefully annoying — I’ve tried calling the phone company and have also played along to see what company they’re with so I can report them to whoever hired them. Also had the call traced. Just curious if anyone ever resolved something like this successfully.

Buy a whistle, blow it loudly into the phone. You won’t get a call again.
